About the Author, Carrie Barrett

Carrie
Carrie Barrett is a USAT L1 certified coach and founder of FOMO Training based in Austin, Texas where she coaches runners and multisport athletes to finish lines at races of all distances. She’s also a public speaker and freelance writer and her articles have appeared at IRONMAN, Training Peaks, and LAVA Magazine. In addition, Carrie is a monthly columnist for Austin Fit Magazine. Her Coach Carrie column often features free training plans and her humorous perspective about training and racing.

Since her very humbling (and often humorous) beginnings in marathons and triathlons, Barrett has gone on to compete in multiple running and triathlon events including the Inaugural 70.3 World Championships in Clearwater in 2006, The Boston Marathon, and five full Ironman Triathlons. In addition, she’s honored to have been selected as one of five Specialized Women Ambassadors in the country. Her role? Get women on bikes!

When she’s not writing or coaching, Carrie loves to travel, eat her veggies, and ride bikes with her husband. She also plays guitar and performs with Girl Guitar Austin.
